Here is the major schedule for the foreign language examination, one of the qualifications for submitting a thesis:


1) Starting from the 2024 academic year, the university's foreign language examination will only be conducted in the second semester. Therefore, the period for exemption from the foreign language examination will be expanded.


2) For the second round, only Korean language applications are accepted, so please take note of this.


3) Key dates for the foreign language examination:


   (a) Exemption application for the 1st semester of the 2024 academic year graduate school foreign language examination:


      - Application period:

        : (1st round) From March 13th, 2024 (Wednesday) to March 27th, 2024 (Wednesday) until 17:00

          ※ Applications for all foreign languages listed in the exemption criteria are accepted (including Korean).

        : (2nd round) From April 15th, 2024 (Monday) to April 16th, 2024 (Tuesday) until 17:00

          ※ Only Korean (TOPIK) can be additionally applied for during the 2nd round (other languages are not allowed).


      - Application method: Refer to the portal and graduate school website announcements.


      - Key points: Exemption application is possible from the first semester of admission, and once passed, there is no need to retake the foreign language examination. Official foreign language scores must be valid as of the exemption application date. (Those who wish to submit expired scores during the exemption period should apply before the expiration and inform the graduate school office by phone (023-3290-1352).)


   (b) Graduation qualification English examination and alternative language courses:


      - Organizing department: International Language Institute (Foreign Language Center, Korean Language Center)


      - Application period: Refer to the portal announcements.


      - Key points: Only the 2nd round of the graduation qualification English examination (to be held on April 6th) and alternative language courses from the winter semester of the 2023 academic year will be reflected in the thesis evaluation for the 1st semester of the 2024 academic year.
