Professor Sangwon Lee earned my B.A. from the School of Media & Communication at Korea University, M.A. from Michigan State University, and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before joining Korea University, he held the position of assistant professor in the Department of Communication at New Mexico State University. Throughout his career, he has received multiple prestigious research awards at international conferences and journals, and has published over thirty papers in SSCI journals.

Professor Sangwon Lee is interested in examining the diverse impacts of the evolving media landscape on society. His research has primarily focused on investigating how the emerging media environment affects individuals' susceptibility to fake news, the acquisition of political information, the formation of political attitudes, and levels of political participation. He is particularly keen on challenging or restructuring previous media effect theories to better suit the dynamics of the contemporary media environment
