LINC 3.0/AJ Media Rookies, Season 4-Episode 1


Recruitment Notice for Participants


Purpose:


The School of Media & Communication of Korea University has been operating the only fully funded foreign exchange program in South Korea since 2019, titled "AJ Media Rookies." The Winter Program in 2024 (Season 4-Episode 1) aims to explore and learn about the trends in media education and research at renowned universities in the Eastern United States, including MIT Media Lab, Harvard University, Rutgers University, Boston University, Emerson College, and New York University. The program will also focus on the significant trends in leading tech industries such as MatLAB, MetaLab, Microsoft, and major media industries like NYTimes. The objective is to engage in experiential learning about the direction of future media changes.

Duration:


January 27th, 2024 (Saturday) - February 8th, 2024 (Thursday) (12 nights, 13 days) (Subject to slight changes of 1-2 days depending on local circumstances)


Number of Participants and Support:


10 current undergraduate students will be selected. The official participation expenses (airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation) will be covered.


Note: For students on leave of absence, please ensure that some financial support may only be provided upon reenrollment.


Eligibility:


1. Current undergraduate students (including students on leave of absence, international students, double major, and multiple major students).

2. Students without disqualifications for travel to the United States.

3. Students who can participate in all the scheduled pre-workshops (3-4 sessions between December and January, to be determined through mutual agreement) and the entire duration of the program (including departure and return).

4. Students who are committed to submitting their work (reports, videos, publishing manuscripts, etc., determined through prior discussions) within 3-5 months after the program.

2. Application form (attached document): Pre-survey (in Korean) + Statement of Purpose (freely describe the reason for participating in this program, background, and your contributions, following the specified length, in English).

3. Transcript from the previous semester.


Interviews:


Scheduled after 3 PM on November 27th (Monday) (Individual notifications will be sent to selected candidates).


Final Participants Announcement:


Individual notifications will be sent by November 30th (Early passport preparation is recommended for swift ticket purchase).
