From January 30th to February 11th, 2023, the Media Rookies 5th Generation program (Season 3, Episode 1), focusing on exploring global media universities and companies, successfully concluded. Media Rookies is an extracurricular activity that provides School of Media & Communication students with the opportunity to explore global media companies and experience cutting-edge industry sites. This program was conducted with the support of LINC 3.0 and AJ Networks Co., Ltd.


The 5th generation program was structured around visits to global media companies and world-renowned educational institutions in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas. Led by Professors Lee Seon-kyung and Park Aran from the School of Media & Communication, a total of 14 undergraduate and graduate students participated. They first visited big tech companies and startups such as Google, Meta, The Mill, and LG Research Lab in Silicon Valley, experiencing firsthand the current status and future trends of the tech industry. They also visited Stanford University's Virtual Human Interaction Lab, experiencing the metaverse and attending lectures by world-renowned scholars.


Afterward, they moved to Los Angeles, where they visited Annenberg School at the University of Southern California, participated in regular classes, gave presentations on Korean culture and food, and interacted with local students. They directly experienced content production at Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Studios, and participated in valuable lectures on global content business trends at the Korean Creative Content Agency's U.S. Business Center. The diverse activities of the Media Rookies 5th Generation will be published in a webzine and videos.
