Goals and Core Areas of Education

The Division of Global Entertainment aims to foster media intellectuals who will lead the global entertainment media ecosystem by cultivating major competencies across industries such as entertainment media production, industry & management, and strategies.

 

•︎ Entertainment Culture


Aiming to cultivate the abilities to plan and produce entertainment contents by understanding and utilizing design thinking, writing and digital production, etc.
 

•︎ Entertainment Industry & Management

Aiming to cultivate creativity and management skills to lead the global entertainment industry.

•︎ Entertainment Strategies

Aiming to cultivate the abilities to solve newly emerging multi-dimensional problems in social, cultural, and industrial units by utilizing the entertainment media.



 

Curriculum Planning

 

•︎ Balancing Korean and English mediated Courses

 

The program will provide a balance of Korean and English lectures to educate students on media and entertainment-related theories and practices by integrating Korean and international perspectives.

 

•︎ Balancing Theoretical and Practice-orientated Courses
 

The program will provide a balance of theoretical and practice-oriented courses to equip students with theoretical perspectives related to the media and entertainment industry, services and effects, as well as practical skills for service development and content creation.
 

•︎ Required Courses

The Global Entertainment major requires a total of three courses including <Introduction to Medias>, <Creative Media Design and Expression>, and <Introduction to Entertainment Studies in Korean Language>.

 


•︎ Cross-listing core courses

 

Cross-listing of core courses between the Division of Media & Communication and the Division of Global Entertainment to operate two programs organically and efficiently.

 



Student Recruitment

- Talented individuals interested in entertainment research in various countries will be recruited

- Preference will be given to applicants with high proficiency levels in Korean and English
